Women’s Giving Alliance (WGA) is pleased to announce that its 17th grant cycle will be accelerated, with Letters of Interest from requesting nonprofit organizations accepted this fall instead of early next year. The new grant cycle means that WGA members will be able to ratify grant recommendations at their May 13, 2019 Member Forum, so that approved agencies receive funding beginning July 1, 2019. WGA listened to feedback from agencies that suggested that shortening the cycle would be helpful in their budget planning and leveraging of funding.

Instructions for submitting a Letter of Interest are posted on the WGA website www.wganefl.org/apply-for-a-grant. The deadline to submit a Letter of Interest is Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 5:00 pm EST.
WGA, an initiative of The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, is a collective giving grantmaking organization. Its current focus is on Breaking the Cycle of Female Poverty in Northeast Florida. WGA is accepting applications from tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations or units of local government with programs or projects that serve women and/or girls in Northeast Florida (Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau or St. Johns Counties), with a specific focus on intervention and prevention.

The grants support organizations whose goals help facilitate systemic change in the lives of women and girls. WGA believes this is done by applying creative, research-based solutions to critical needs and producing measurable, sustainable impact. As WGA President Ellen Wiss says, “Our grantees are innovative partners in our collective and collaborative model for strategic philanthropy. Grantmaking is at the heart of WGA.”

Grant requests of all sizes are welcome. The grants are for two years and are paid in installments. WGA members will make scheduled visits during the grant cycle to monitor progress.

A Letter of Interest is the first step in making an application for a 2019-2021 grant. Nonprofit organizations that submit a Letter of Interest may then be asked to complete a Request for Proposal to complete the application process.
