The winners of the 8th annual Wild Amelia Nature Photography Contest were announced on Saturday, May 21, at the conclusion of the 10th annual Wild Amelia Nature Festival Expo. Among the winning images were “Good Morning from Main Beach,” by Katrina Baxter, winner of the Beginner Landscape category and “Frog in Monocle.” third-place in Children 10-17 category by Skylar Plungis. The winning images may be viewed online at www.wildamelia.com .

Wild Amelia has announced the winners of the 8th annual Wild Amelia Nature Photography Contest held in the winter and spring of 2016. The winners were first announced at the Festival Expo on May 21, 2016 at the Atlantic Recreation Center; but the winning images will soon be able to be viewed by the public on the Festival website, www.wildamelia.com. Many of the winning images will be used in the 2017 Wild Amelia Nature Photography calendar, which will be available in limited quantities in the early fall of 2016 at various locations on Amelia Island.

The Wild Amelia Nature Photography Contest has several distinct entry categories: Adult Advanced, Adult Beginner, Children under 10, Children between 10 and 17 years of age. This year again, the Adult categories were themed as well: “Birds,” “Other Fauna,” Flora,” and “Landscapes.”

For the seoncd time, a Best in Show Grand Prize Winner was selected: Norma McLeod, “Barred Owl.”
