In the interest of the health and safety of the Amelia Island community and surrounding areas, Wild Amelia has made the following changes to its spring programming.

The 14th Annual Nature Festival scheduled for May 15-17 has been POSTPONED. The board is currently working with its many partners to look at alternate dates for this fall. If group gathering restrictions have been lifted by that time, we expect to offer the full range of activities associated with past years.

The April and May Wild Nite presentations at the Peck Center have been CANCELLED.

For those of you who are experiencing cabin fever, we want to remind everyone there is an abundance of wildlife that is enjoying Amelia Island’s spring weather. (See attached photo of “Momma with a Mohawk,” courtesy of Jay Kayne.) To encourage nature walks, Wild Amelia has extended the deadline for the annual photo contest until April 30th. Information about the contest and on-line submission of entries can be viewed at http://wildamelia.org/Photo_Contest.html.

Wild Amelia’s mission is to educate residents and visitors about the local bioregion and encourage stewardship of the area’s natural resources through events and programs that educate and entertain while promoting a conservation ethic.
