West Nassau High School Student Team wins $4000 in Scholarships at “Constitution Bowl”

The U.S. Constitution Scholarship Foundation (USCSF) hosted all four Nassau County high schools and a home educated team in the inaugural Constitution Bowl competition at Yulee High School. West Nassau and Fernandina Beach advanced to the final round, with West Nassau taking the 2019 title in front of a crowd of over 300 educators, community leaders, parents and students. Caleb Bryan accepted the soaring eagle trophy from Ron Heymann. The U.S. Constitution Scholarship Foundation (USCF) awarded each member of the winning team, Matthew Gaus, Josh Fahlgren, Jaren Collins and James Evans, a $1000 scholarship to the college of their choice. The USCSF awarded each member of the 2nd place Fernandina Beach team, Brody Mandelbaum, Katie Slaughter, Felix McKenzie and Bryce Howell, a $250 Scholarship while their teacher/coach for the competition Steve Rathmann looked on with pride.

Dr. Kathy Burns presented an additional $1000 check from the USCSF for educational supplies to Yulee High School for generating the most attendees to the event.
