The Nassau County Director of Emergency Management Greg Foster will hold a News Conference today at 2pm at the Nassau County Emergency Operations Center.

Yesterday first responders responded to two calls in Nassau County; one by the Fernandina Beach Fire Department and the other by the Nassau County Fire and Rescue at two different locations in the county. In both cases, the patients have subsequently tested positive for COVID-19 and have been transported to local hospitals.

As a result, three members of the Fernandina Beach Fire Department have been quarantined and are following all Department of Health protocols during quarantine.

There are 14 current positive cases in Nassau County, not including these two cases which will be added in the next formal Department of Health update.

Thank you Susan for the further clarification and update. Do we know if the first responders were provided and wearing PPE? and what is the current protocol for such?
