The Coastal Florida Police Benevolent Association (PBA) presented the Fernandina Beach Police Foundation’s Signal 35 with a check for $3,655. The money was collected from a raffle organized by Mike Mazuryk, an Officer of the Fernandina Beach Police Department. Mike recognized the opportunity to support the police community in their time of need during unexpected situations. Signal 35 is an Officer Assistance Program that provides financial assistance to any local police officer, or their immediate families, that find themselves in financial difficulty as a result of a violent act perpetrated against the law enforcement officer or their family. The Fernandina Beach Police Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that oversees the Police Auxiliary Corps (PAC), Shop with Cops, Signal 35, Chaplaincy, and the soon-to-be-announced Citizen’s Police Academy. Tax-deductible donations to support these efforts can be made by check to “Fernandina Beach Police Foundation” and dropped off or sent to Police Headquarters at 1525 Lime Street, Fernandina Beach, Florida 32034.
