According to News 4 Jax, two bank robbery suspects, Chance Bennett and Mandy Hagen were arrested after crossing the Shave Bridge. Following an early afternoon robbery at First Coast Community Bank in Fernandina Beach, a road block was established in an effort to apprehend the bank robbers. The roadblock proved successful and the robbers were apprehended.
On August 1, 2012. twenty-two year old Chance Bennett was arrested for grand theft and dealing in stolen property after stealing 5 surfboards from the Pipleline Surf Shop on Sadler Road. (Click here for previous City of Fernandina Beach Police Department Press Release.)
