Jacksonville, Fla., Oct. 24, 2017 – North Florida Land Trust is asking for volunteers to help clean-up a stretch of road on Big Talbot Island. The land conservation organization will be gathering a group on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to clean up the road along Heckscher Dr./A1A between Houston Ave. and the Nassau Sound Bridge.

NFLT adopted the three-mile segment of road on Big Talbot through the Florida Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway Litter Removal Program. Each quarter, they assemble a group of volunteers to pick up trash to prevent it from entering state parks and waterways.

Volunteers can sign up at http://www.northfloridalandtrust.org/calendarofevents/. Following the clean-up, volunteers will be served lunch at NFLT’s Milam House.
