The City of Fernandina Beach is pleased to announce that the nomination period for the 2019 Historic Preservation Awards has opened.
The City of Fernandina Beach Historic Preservation Awards recognizes the efforts of those involved in preserving our unique architectural resources through an award program that is held every other year. Historic structures contribute to the identity of our community, and sensitive treatment of these resources ensure future residents and visitors will experience the same community character. The 2019 City of Fernandina Beach Historic Preservation Awards are sponsored by preservation partners, City of Fernandina Beach, Fernandina Beach Main Street Program, Amelia Island-Fernandina Restoration Foundation, and the Amelia Island Museum of History.
Projects throughout the City are eligible, not just properties in the historic districts. Nomination forms are available through the City’s website (www.fbfl.us/PreservationAwards), and in the Department of Planning & Conservation lobby in City Hall (204 Ash St). There is no fee to submit a nomination. All nomination packages are due no later than 4:30PM Friday March 29, 2019.
