Nassau Humane Society to host 18th annual “Parade of Paws” – Saturday, December 9

Santa Paws is coming to town! The Nassau Humane Society hosts the 18th annual Parade of Paws holiday-costumed dog parade this coming Saturday. The colorful event starts and ends at the Old Railroad Depot downtown, with registration beginning at 10 a.m. and the parade starting at 11 a.m. Registration is $15 per dog, and proceeds go to NHS. Pre-registration is available now at the NHS Adoption Center, Dog Park, Second Chance and Second Chance Closet resale stores, and Redbones Dog Bakery. People-friendly and animal-friendly dogs only please.

The parade will head east on the sidewalk along Centre Street to 7th Street, cross over and return. Prizes provided by Redbones will be awarded for the top 3 best overall costumes, and for best Victorian costume, most original, cutest personality and the dog who looks most like his or her owner.
