Nassau County’s Future Business Leaders of America students competed at the District IV competition held on January 18th at the FSCJ Kent Campus in Jacksonville. 42 Nassau County students placed first in their individual or team events and 27 students placed second. The school district’s scope of FBLA reach continues to grow. Fernandina Beach Middle School launched their first chapter this year. Despite being a small chapter, they managed to produce three district champions and three runners-up. The district now has four high school chapters and three middle school chapters, a steady increase from 7 years ago when only two schools had chapters. The district also broke new ground by launching a multi-school chapter so that students from the Institute for Enterprise’s Entrepreneurship program could compete as a team. The Entrepreneurship program is based at the Lewis “Red” Bean Nassau Technical Career Center and students from any Nassau County school may enroll.
