On Friday, April 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Nassau County School District will host the area’s third annual Reverse Job Fair at the Lewis “Red” Bean Nassau Technical Center on the FSCJ Campus in Yulee. Last year’s event drew approximately 250 jobseekers and over 45 hiring managers and the event planners are working hard to improve upon last year’s success.

For those not familiar with the concept, a “Reverse Job Fair” is exactly what you might guess. Job seekers are stationed throughout the room, and employers work the room to meet their potential hires. It’s great for employers because the participants are all legitimate jobseekers prepared with a resume and the short introductions serve as an effective pre-screening before committing time to the formal interview process. It’s great for students and adults seeking employment for many reasons – they will meet many potential employers in a short period of time practice their formal communication skills, learn numerous opportunities in the area, and be introduced to hiring managers.

“We’re excited to bring this event to our community for another year,” said Brent Lemond, the Nassau County’s Career Education Director. “Every year we strive to grow and improve the event, and this year will be no different. We are tweaking the schedule in hopes of growing the session for adult applicants, and we are going to try a couple new marketing tactics as well. We’re proud of the event’s track record, and appreciate the continued support of our many volunteers, faculty and staff from our high schools, and local employers. We’re especially thankful that Rayonier and VyStar Credit Union are once again sponsoring the event.
