Nassau County Council on Aging appoints five to Board of Directors

Barbara Gingher, Chair, Nassau County Council on Aging (NCCOA) Board of Directors, is pleased to announce five appointments to the organization’s board.

Laurie Byrns is a retired pediatric nurse and co-founder (with her husband, Ken) of The Ben Byrns Foundation in memory of their son. They direct the Ben Byrns Runway Rally at the Fernandina Beach Airport each year, with all proceeds benefitting Nassau Alcohol Crime Drug Abatement (NACDAC).

Tim Eberle is a retired senior operations executive with experience leading global manufacturing and supply chain operations for specialty chemical businesses. With NCCOA, he is a Meals on Wheels volunteer (with his wife, Mary) and served as a volunteer consultant during the construction phase of the Fernandina Beach Life Center at 1901 Island Walk Way following Hurricane Irma.

The Honorable Robert M. Foster served as Administrative Judge of Nassau County from 1994 through 2018, and officially retired on December 31. In 2015, the Robert M. Foster Justice Center, a judicial complex in Yulee, was dedicated in his honor. Judge Foster is a former member of The Florida Bar’s Civil Procedure Rules Committee, previous Chairman of the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast and former Board member of Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc.

Kim Page is a retired attorney and was a founding partner of Alvarez & Page, PA, the first all-female law firm in Nassau County. A former Mayor of Fernandina Beach, she is a graduate of Fernandina Beach High School (FBHS), and a member of the FBHS Foundation Board of Directors and the School’s Advisory Council. Kim was inducted into the FBHS Hall of Fame in 2018. She is also a mentor for Take Stock in Children.

John C. Taylor Jr., is a retired attorney and resident of Nassau County for the past 25 years. John currently serves on the Board of Directors for WJCT, the community-supported public broadcasting station for the First Coast, and the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center, a Jacksonville-based nonprofit organization which advocates for girls and young women. He previously served as a board member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County.

Founded in 1974 by local citizens, the Nassau County Council on Aging (NCCOA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to enhance the lives of older adults through services and compassionate care designed to improve the health, independence and economic security of all Nassau County seniors and their families.
