On Wednesday, February 5th, 73 Nassau County students participated in the district’s “Career Shadow Day”. The event was open to all Nassau County 8th graders students that registered and were willing to take on the follow-up assignment. Students shadowed and studied occupations of all types, including manufacturing, construction, law, public service, healthcare, and business.

“This was our highest level of participation so far, so we really appreciate the work of our middle school administrators, guidance counselors, CTE staff, and the Nassau County Community for helping us get the word out, “ said Brent Lemond, Director of Nassau County Career Education. “Most of all, we appreciate all of the participating businesses that were willing to host our students.”

This marks the 3rd year that the district has offered the 8th grade shadow day program.
