Mike “Sarge” Cole to run for Ocean Highway Port Authority District 5

OHPA Candidate Mike “Sarge” Cole

Callahan, FL – Today, Mike “Sarge” Cole announced his candidacy for the Ocean, Highway and Port Authority in District 5.

Mike has been an active member of the community after he moved to Nassau County in 1994. A Jacksonville native who served in the military for 27 years, Mike is a former culinary instructor for the Nassau County School Board, small business owner in Callahan and served as a volunteer firefighter who prides himself as someone people in the community from all walks of life can turn to.

Mike currently serves as a Board Member at the Greater Nassau County Chamber of Commerce, has previously served as Chairman of the Nassau County Economic Development Board, served as a member of the OHPA Charter Revision Committee and as a Mentor for Take Stock in Children. These are just a few of many examples of his community involvement. Mike currently runs a catering business carefully preparing dishes for special events in the area.

“I believe that my experience in the government and the private business sector are part of what makes me a great candidate to represent the interests of the Port on behalf of the county. I’m thankful for the opportunity to run.” Cole said.

Mike resides in Callahan with Angel, his wife of 24 years and enjoys spending his free time cooking, fishing, attending service at Liberty Baptist Church and being “Gwampa” to his grandchildren.
