City Attorney Tammi Bach alerted Commissioners and those watching the April 2, 2019 Fernandina Beach City Commission (FBCC) Regular Meeting that the Florida Legislature is considering several bills that if passed into law will seriously impact cities and counties. These bills, which are commonly called preemption bills, take away the right of local government to legislate on matters in their own communities.
In response to a request from the Fernandina Observer, Bach has shared alerts that she received from the Florida League of Cities on pending votes on preemption. We share them here in hopes that readers will contact legislators to object to those bills — like changes to Bert Harris and short term rentals — that will take local issues out of the hands of local government.
is there a way we can contact these folk without having to hand-enter each address?
Thanks to direction from City Clerk Caroline Best, there is a way to email all the commissioners. http://www.fbfl.us/FormCenter/Email-Forms-3-3/Send-an-Email-to-Your-Commissioners-and–110-110 Thank you Caroline. Worth saving as a bookmark.
