Jacksonville, Florida (March 18, 2020) — The Jacksonville Symphony has decided to cancel the previously announced live stream of SHIFT: Kennedy Center Bound scheduled for March 20, 2020. This decision was made after the City of Jacksonville announced that all gatherings of 50 or more people are banned. The Jacksonville Symphony cares deeply about the health of both its musicians and stage crew and therefore the decision was made to cancel the event.

The Jacksonville Symphony Percussion Ensemble features all four of the Symphony’s percussion and timpani artists, including principal percussionist Steven Merrill, Kevin Garry, Joel Panian, and principal timpanist Kenneth Every.

Instead of presenting the full orchestra, the Jacksonville Symphony is excited to use Facebook Premiere to broadcast a performance by the Symphony Percussion Ensemble. The Jacksonville Symphony Percussion Ensemble features all four of the Symphony’s percussion and timpani artists, including principal percussionist Steven Merrill, Kevin Garry, Joel Panian, and principal timpanist Kenneth Every. Patrons can find the Premiered concert on the Symphony’s Facebook page or YouTube Channel at 8 p.m. this coming Friday, March 20.

“Last Friday’s live stream of Give My Regards to Broadway was a huge success,” says Steven Libman, President & CEO. “We are so thankful for the outpouring of support from our community and I am grateful to see our staff, musicians and stage crew working together to continue to bring music to Jacksonville.” In total, the March 14 live stream has had almost 17,000 unique viewers since posted, a record for Jacksonville Symphony streams.

I didn’t get notice of last weeks livestream and I am a season ticket holder. How will I get information on upcoming live streams if you decide to do them?
