The Observer was informed at 11 am today that Circuit Court Judge Charles Dodson this morning vacated the automatic stay that was in effect allowing today’s interviews of candidates to fill Judge Robert Foster’s seat on the 4th Circuit.

The interviews have been cancelled.

Dodson made his ruling orally from the bench in response to a motion made by David Trotti.

The Governor and Secretary of State are expected to appeal this new ruling.

Dodson previously ruled that Judge Foster’s seat should be filled by election rather than appointment. The automatic stay was the result of Governor Scott’s appeal of that decision.
