Fernandina’s Main Street is seeking funds from America’s Main Street to further enhance our historic downtown. By clicking on the “vote” button below, you can help the Fernandina Beach Main Street organization win the grand prize of $25,000 in a contest to recognize the value of Main Streets.
According to America’s Main Street, “Main Streets are really the heartbeat of America’s cities and towns. They play an important part in the long-term success of communities and really help build a sense of place. When Main Streets are strong, so are the communities that surround them.”
what’s the money to used for?
Mr Carter, Main Street’s dual mission is to help preserve and to promote economic vitality in our historic downtown. We do that by assisting with marketing, managing events to bring people downtown, providing our businesses with information from state and national sources available through the National Main Street organization and acting as an advocate for our business community and residents in the Central Business District. The description of our projects in the voting block are examples of some of our accomplishments to date. Our next efforts include a possible expansion of our district to works on similar efforts in the 8h St and Atlantic Ave to address the gateways to downtown as well as our historic B&B’s and African American churches.
