Geoffrey Clear named president of Amelia Island Plantation Community Association

A former chief financial officer for a variety of high tech companies is the new president of the Amelia Island Plantation Community Association (AIPCA). Geoffrey Clear, 65, began his one-year term on Saturday, February 6, at the end of AIPCA’s 2016 Annual Meeting, which was attended by 700 Association members, with more than 150 others either watching a live Internet video stream or listening on a conference line.

Prior to becoming president, Clear served as AIPCA Treasurer, and chaired the community’s Finance and Strategic Planning/Partnership committees. He also has served on the Finance and House committees of the Amelia Island Club. Clear first bought property on Amelia Island Plantation in 2006, joined the Amelia Island Club in 2010 and moved to the community in 2011.

A graduate of Dartmouth College, Clear received his M.B.A. from Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School of Business Administration. He has more than 40 years of finance experience, the last 25 years as chief financial officer at four different high technology companies – he led three companies through the initial public offering process.

Clear is an active member of the Nassau County Council on Aging Board of Directors, and he served 15 years on the Board of Trustees for Lawrence Academy in Groton, Mass.

“I am thrilled to be AIPCA president in 2016. I am confident this will be a fabulous year for our community,” Clear said.

The 2016-17 AIPCA Board of Directors and Officers are: President Geoff Clear; Vice President Larry Jones; Treasurer Lizbeth Schuler; Secretary Gene Goldenberg; and Directors Jan Faiks, Dick McCormick, Jeff Packer, Jackye Rubin, Carol Simon, Donald Stamets, Dan Stephenson and Fred Yochum.
