The Atlantic Rec Center tax site is suspended and will not be doing taxes for now. We hope to be back in operation before April 15, but we are cancelling all appointments through April 15.

This is being done for the safety and well being of our volunteers and our tax clients. We regret the inconvenience this has caused. The Fernandina Beach Library will not take any more appointments for this tax season. If and when we are able to reopen, we will work to reschedule existing appointments and handle new appointments as walk-ins.

Here are some options that are currently available:
• You can go to myfreetaxes.com and file your tax return yourself. It is very easy and is question based. There is no income limit but check the FAQ’s to see if you qualify, as there are a few limitations.
• You can use commercially available tax systems such as TurboTax or TaxSlayer to file your taxes. Again, easy and question based.
• If you are sure you are getting a refund, you do not have to file right now. You have up to 3 years to file and receive your refund.
• If you believe that you will owe money, you can file IRS Form 4868 for an extension. You are expected to send in a payment for what you will owe to avoid late fees and penalties.
• Use professional tax preparation providers.

The CareerSource VITA site in Yulee is also suspended and will be taking names of people who need their taxes done but will not be making appointments at this time.

Again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience, but everyone’s health and well being are our upmost concern.
