Florida Dept of Health issues evening report on Coronavirus cases

Florida Dept of Health
Information as of 6:00 p.m.
March 23, 2020

Editor’s Note:  Last night, we announced there were 2 confirmed cases of the Caronavirus in Nassau County.  That was the information that appeared on the Florida Dept of Health website in the 6:00 p.m. report.  By morning, the figure was changed to 1 case in Nassau County.  We have reached out to the Florida Dept of Health for an explanation, but at this time, there is no response. This is a busy time for their staff.  It appears the 1 reported case is still the individual who is a resident of Nassau County.

We have been informed by Sabrina Robertson, public information officer for Nassau County, that “the person who tested positive in Miami was erroneously reported as being a resident of Nassau County, Florida, however he is actually a resident of Nassau County, NY.”
