It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the Honorable Robert E. Williams.

Mr. Williams contributed greatly to Nassau County. He was a teacher and mentor, and was actively involved in numerous civic boards and organizations. He became the first prosecutor based in Nassau County in 1972 and was elected in 1984 as County and Juvenile Judge where he served for twenty-two (22) years. He also founded Nassau County’s Teen Court in 1998, and held a positive and long-lasting impact on many teens appearing and participating in Teen Court throughout the years. Mr. Williams is widely recognized for his commitment to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Nassau County, Florida and will be greatly missed by the residents, as well as those who had the privilege to work with him.

Judge Robert Foster issued the attached Proclamation in honor of Judge Williams and has ordered all flags in Nassau County to be flown at half-staff in his memory through sunset on September 22, 2018.
