Deputy Chief Fino Murallo

The Fernandina Beach Fire Department is proud to announce the promotion of Fino Murallo to the position of Deputy Fire Chief. Murallo began his service with the City of Fernandina Beach in 1998 at the City’s Golf Course, before transferring to the Utilities Department in 1999. In 2005, after acquiring his Firefighter/EMT certification, Murallo was hired by the City’s Fire Department and he began his fire service career.

Since April 2010, Murallo has served as the Department’s EMS Division Chief. This fiscal year, due to budget constraints, the two Division Chief positions within the Department were eliminated. As a result, Murallo was required to take on a tremendous amount of additional responsibilities above and beyond those of an EMS Division Chief.

To more properly align his job title with his responsibilities and to address the loss of Division Chief positions within the Department’s organizational structure, Murallo was reclassified and promoted to the title of Deputy Chief. This promotion is in recognition of the outstanding job performance, dedication to the Department, and professionalism that Deputy Chief Murallo has demonstrated since undertaking these additional responsibilities.
