Fernandina Beach library branch expansion and renovation out for bid

Submitted by Susan Hardee Stegerlibrary

The construction bid to expand and renovate the Fernandina Beach library located on North 4th Street was posted today on  the City website.  A pre-bid meeting will be held August 6.  The bid closes August 23 and 2:00 p.m.

In addition to the bid are several “Additive Alternate Bids” which include adding a technology area to the existing courtyard, replacing six large windows on the east side of the building, and demolishing and replacing the river rock sidewalk section with stamped concrete.

In April the Friends of the Library (FOL) announced their share of the construction costs ($400,000) have been raised.  According to FOL members, since April the capital campaign has made great progress and donations continue to increase.   For more information call Bill Flynn at (904) 321-0358 or email [email protected]  Donations can be mailed to  Friends of the Library, P.O. Box 17155, Fernandina Beach, FL 32035.
