Fernandina Beach Covid-19 update: 4:20 p.m.

City Manager Dale Martin
City of Fernandina Beach
March 20, 2020

As concerns regarding the spread of Covid-19 continue, it has become necessary to implement additional protections for City staff to ensure the continuity of local government operations.

Effective at 5:00 PM, today, March 20, 2020, access to City facilities (City Hall, Peck Center, Atlantic Recreation Center, Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center, Police and Fire Stations, and Maintenance Yard) will be restricted to City officials and staff; County, State, and Federal officials; janitorial contractors; and delivery services (mail, packages, and supplies), with the exception of agencies that operate within City facilities (such as the Fixed Base Operator and Peck Center-based organizations).

Other City outdoor recreation facilities (Golf Course, parks, tennis and pickleball courts, skatepark, and beaches) will be monitored and subject to similar restrictions.

City operations will continue as best as possible to meet the needs of residents. All staff are accessible by telephone and email. Documents and forms are available electronically. Any necessary meetings should be coordinated at a convenient off-site location (still recognizing the need for social distancing and group size).

City staff thanks you for your continuing support during this challenging emergency.
