Editor’s Note:  The Fernandina Observer submitted four questions to five candidates vying for the office of Fernandina Beach City Commissioner.  Candidate Pelican did not meet the deadline, but in the interest of keeping voters informed we will update our website and include her response.   Over the next four days, we will post answers to candidate questions.  As in the past, comments placed on our website will be removed. “As a former commissioner I have proven my skills as an effective communicator, listener and common-sense problem solver. As a local businessman I am a strong leader, financial manager and strategic planner. As a Fernandina Beach resident I am in-tune with local issues, have a positive outlook for the future of our city and the vision and drive to make things happen.”

  •  Listening skill: I will listen to everyone who has an opinion as well as city management.
  • Analytical skill: I will analyze issues and problems to get to their core. Research will also be utilized in this process.
  • Decision Making skill: I will utilize everything learned from the first two skills to make a decision which will serve the best interests of our community.
