Neighbors saved homeowners from more extensive damage to their home after a pool pump exploded in a quiet neighborhood located between Atlantic Avenue and Beech Street. According a neighbor, at 3:24 p.m. a call was placed to 911. Since the home was within close proximity to the City of Fernandina Beach Fire Department, firefighters quickly arrived on the scene to extinguish the flames. An individual from the neighborhood watch group sent the attached video and photos. Thanks were extended from the group for the quick response from the firefighters.
Major kudos to the neighbor(s) that were looking out for their fellow neighbor and reported the fire immediately.
