Karen Allen a volunteer and Kim Geib RN, review schedule for the day’s event.

The members of the Coalition for The Reduction/Elimination of Ethnic Disparities in Health (CREED) in partnership with the Florida Department of Health of Nassau, and the city of Fernandina Parks and Recreation Department would like to thank the community and those who volunteered for helping to make this year’s Community Back to School Event a huge success. During this year’s event, with donations from the community, we were able to distribute school supplies to over two hundred young people with a book offered to each child. St Vincent’s Hospital Mobile Health Van along with Wal-Mart Vision Center and nursing student from Florida State College of Jacksonville performed sixty-eight physicals for students returning to school.

Kimberly a volunteer asks, “Do I have to pack all the back-packs?”

With your help the students in the community were able to return to school more prepared with supplies, school/sport physicals, and information for healthier and safer living.

We look forward, with the community’s help, to be able to serve even more young people next year.
