With locations throughout Florida, the children’s hair salon franchise focused on a fun haircut experience is expanding to Florida’s First Coast

Children’s haircuts are more fun than ever now that Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids is opening in the rapidly growing city of Yulee, FL.

Located at 463909 State Rd. 200, the salon will be owned and operated by husband and wife duo Dave and Karen Brooks and will service North Jacksonville, River City, South Georgia, Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach – Nassau County. The salon is slated to open October 15th.

“As parents of two girls, we’ve experienced first-hand the anxiety associated with children’s haircuts and we are excited to own a business that makes the experience fun for kids and stress-free for parents,” said Karen. “We are eager to introduce the Cookie Cutters brand to the communities in and around Yulee, and look forward to helping the community discover how much fun a children’s haircut can actually be.”

Prior to Cookie Cutters, Dave worked in marketing, while Karen worked in HR. The couple, originally from the Northern Chicago suburbs, moved to Jacksonville area to be closer to their first grandchild and pursue their entrepreneurial venture. Attracted to the Cookie Cutters’ mission of providing a fun, kid-friendly environment, the Brooks are excited to serve their new community.

Cookie Cutters offers an interactive haircut experience that both children and parents won’t soon forget. Upon entering the salon, children are welcomed by an in-store playground where they can climb and slide. Come time for the haircut, each station on the cutting floor is outfitted with unique fantasy chairs – from a police car to a firetruck and airplanes – as well as televisions for the kids to watch their favorite shows or play an interactive game.

Special attention is given to those children who are experiencing their first haircut sitting in an airplane chair with the option to have a certificate printed with a lock of their hair as a keepsake. With a balloon, lollipop and a smile at the end of each haircut, the Cookie Cutters experience is designed to keep children and their parents wanting to come back again and again.

“We loved the aspect of providing a service to all children, including those with special needs. Our daughter Kaitlin is a licensed occupational therapist focused on young children with special needs in the Jacksonville area and we plan to use her experience in our stylists’ training to further cultivate a low-stress environment for the child and parent,” added Karen.

Cookie Cutters of Yulee is open from Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m.– 7:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Sunday 12:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m..
