City trash and recycle bin update

City of Fernandina Beach
January 10, 2019 11:00 a.m.

The new trash and recycle bins, which were paid for by Advanced Disposal – City of Fernandina Beach as part of their contract with the City, have been delivered to a little over 50% of City residents. Everyone should receive their carts by this Friday, January 11. Please do not use both old and new bins for your trash and recycle collection.

The removal process of old bins begins on Monday, January 14. MONTHLY SERVICE FEES HAVE NOT INCREASED. If you have any questions, you may contact Advanced Disposal directly at (904) 879- 2301.

Regarding yard debris, residents are encouraged to bag their items, but this is NOT a requirement. The more yard waste that is bundled, the less that is blown around on the streets. The maximum amount of yard waste material that will be allowed per pick up is three cubic yards.
