Citizens for a Better Nassau – Prepare for August Primary

Media Release
March 16, 2016 7:00 p.m.

Citizens for a Better Nassau CropElections will be here before you know it. You already can’t turn on a TV, open a newspaper or even start up your Internet browser without seeing something on one of the presidential hopefuls.

But, one thing that shouldn’t get lost in all of this presidential hoopla is that we have many important local offices up for election. While these offices may not seem as relevant now with all of the presidential coverage, we can assure you that they are very important, as Nassau County is our home and the decisions these officeholders make directly impact the quality of our daily lives, our property values and our cost of living now and well into the future. From the places we live, to the roads we drive on and the quality of our schools, these are all decided by our local government.

As a part of the ‘Citizens for a Better Nassau County’ education effort, we truly believe that informed citizens make better, stronger and more prosperous communities. It is in this vein that we encourage you to stay tuned into what’s going on locally and start making plans now so your voice will be heard in these local races that, based on the demographics of our county’s registered voters, will largely be decided on Primary Election Day.

If your plans don’t include Nassau County during the summer or you just might not be able to go to the polls that day, requesting a mail ballot is the way to go. You can request a mail ballot from the Nassau County Supervisor of Elections (SOE) office by calling 904.491.7500 or 800.260.4301, or you can request a mail ballot at VoteNassau.com.
