On February 17, the much-anticipated Boys & Girls Clubs Gala will be presented at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. It looks like a sell-out, but a waiting list can be found at bgcnassau.org or by calling (904) 261-8666. The evening will feature a cocktail hour at 6:00 pm and the exciting Silent Auction, followed by a gourmet dinner and the entertainment of renowned showman/singer/musician Frankie Moreno.
Moreno has been enthusiastically received at the Hollywood Bowl, the Kennedy Center and New York’s Carnegie Hall, as well as by viewers of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and PBS’s “Frankie Moreno in Concert.”
Whether you can attend the event or not, you can still participate in the remarkable Silent Auction. A lengthy list of auction items can be bid on, ranging from luxury tours and cruises to celebrity-autographed memorabilia to original art to fun local evenings. It is notable that the local business community has provided wholehearted support for this event as shown by the almost 150 gift cards for dining and purchases at donor establishments that are included in the Silent Auction. Every dollar raised at the Benefit Gala goes toward maintaining the outstanding after-school and summer programs offered to Nassau County kids from 8 to 18.
