The dredge is operating off shore, and estimated time to begin beach pumping is 1 March 2018. New Youk Avenue will be the start of the project area. Pumping will be completed 31 March 2018. Demobilization estimated completion on 14 April 2018.

Pipe in place on beach from Fort Clinch Jetty to Main Beach. Pipe will be extended from Dolphin to New York Avenue this weekend.

A typical walk through for beach access..

Could SOMEONE go look at Beach Access 27~~thru~~30)? Most of the high dune is GONE. It would be really nice to have some attentions paid to this part of the beach vs. same old same old.

Robert, I would suggest you contact Erik Olsen of Olsen Associates ((904) 387-6114) and relay your concerns. Eric is the consultant that oversees the beach renourishment projects on Amelia Island. My understanding is that there is a geographical limit to the beach renourishment area due to the amount of sand being dredged as well as the studies showing where the impact of the erosion as a result of the St. Mary’s River jetty, but Erik can give you the full story.
