Nassau County, Florida, March 20, 2020 – As many of you know, the Board of County Commissioners has a public hearing scheduled for Monday, March 23rd at 6:00 p.m. to discuss possible revisions to the County’s beach ordinances as they related to beach driving, camping, horseback riding, bonfires, and more.

In light of the recent threat to public health due to COVID-19 and the Center for Disease Control’s recommendation to limit gatherings, please be advised that the public hearing WILL NOT be heard on Monday, March 23rd. The Board held a special meeting on Monday, March 16th and voted to continue the public hearing to Monday, April 27th at 6:00 p.m.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through unprecedented times.  If you have any questions, please contact the County Manager’s Office at (904) 530-6010.

Leave them closed. That way it’s unfair for everyone! We have to stop the spread. For God sakes it’s not forever!! This is for all of us and to save lives and help those trying to save ours. I live on Amelia Island, NASSAU County and I’m willing to give up beach time for the lives of our community here and afar. Please do the right thing!!!
