April Wild Night presents “Beach Restoration”

Dr. Al Browder, Coastal Engineer will be the guest speaker at Wild Nite on April 9.

“25 Years of Beach Restoration for South Amelia Island” will be the topic of Wild Amelia’s next Wild Nite on Tuesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. at the Peck Center Auditorium, 516 S.10th Street in Fernandina Beach. The guest speaker will be Dr. Al Browder, Coastal Engineer.

A Vice-President and Principal at Olsen Associates of Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Browder received his doctorate in Civil and Coastal Engineering from the University of Florida. He is the Coastal Engineering Project Manager for the South Amelia Island Shore Stabilization Project. He has worked on the project since 1995.

Wild Nites, educational nature forums, are offered by Wild Amelia from September through May on the second Tuesday of each month. These programs, free and open to the public, lead up to the three-day Wild Amelia Nature Festival on the third weekend in May. This year, the 13th annual Wild Amelia Nature Festival, will be held from Friday, May 17 through Sunday, May 19 at various locations on and around Amelia Island.
