In Service to Veterans of All Eras and Their Families

AMVETS (American Veterans) dates back to 1944, when veterans began helping World War II veterans obtain benefits. Today, its over 250,000 members represent the interests of 20 million veterans of all uniformed services, including National Guard and Reserve personnel. The veterans council is composed of veterans’ organizations throughout the county. It acts as an information exchange, as well as a coordinator of assistance efforts on behalf of veterans. It works closely with the Veterans Service Office and Veterans Treatment Court. Veterans Memorial Park at Central Park falls under the council’s purview, and it maintains a supply of memorial brick order forms at both the flagpole and at veterans organizations.
