Amelia Island revealed . . .

Ice Skating

Editor’s Note: Would David Yulee who platted the new town of Fernandina in the mid 1850’s have envisioned a skating rink at the foot of Centre Street? Having received this photo from our Roving Reporter Gerry Clare, I thought back to our early history when the foot of Centre Street was the scene of bustling port activity. Times have certainly changed in our city. We wish the Nassau Alcohol Crime Drug Abatement Coalition (NACDAC) well in this fundraising effort, and we thank them for offering this unique experience to residents and tourists alike.

With all the photos taken of my Santa butt I sure would like to have seen more of them in the paper. Or at least a sight where we can go see the rest of the pictures. We drove up from Ft. Lauderdale for the PJ party. We had a great time while on the island.
