Editor’s Note: Jennifer and Mike Harrison accidentally discovered Old Town Fernandina about 22 years ago. They recognized the physical beauty of the small neglected community and bought land. Although living out-of-state they visited regularly, getting to know the people in Old Town and learning its fascinating history. After a few years they built a cottage and moved to Old Town full time.
Jennifer is on the Board of Trustees at the Amelia Museum of History and Mike is Chair of the Historic District Council. They are strong advocates for Old Town and welcome the new residents who have also been attracted Old Town’s uniqueness.
