A rehabilitated juvenile green sea turtle was one of two released back to their ocean home by the Georgia Sea Turtle Center at Main Beach to kick off the 12th annual Wild Amelia Nature Festival on Friday, May 18th. A large crowd was on hand to wish them well! Photo courtesy of Kathy Brooks.

Editor’s Note” Kathy claims to be a “strictly an unschooled amateur photographer” and she has enjoyed taking photos of family, friends, and nature her whole life. She says Amelia Island is a treasure for photographers, and she enjoys donating photographs to various charities for silent auctions and just sharing the beauty of this island in photo gifts to friends and family. She is now consumed by being a grandmother and taking photos of her grandson and grandaughter.
