I totally agree Joe. I am an animal lover who would never take our dog, Dixie, to the shrimp festival. If it’s a hot weekend, their four paws will get burned. If it’s crowded (which it will be), their four paws will be stepped. For the little guys, no one can see them so they don’t know they are there and will step on them. With the expected crowds of 100,000+ for the weekend, why would anyone want to put their dogs in that situation. Leave them at home under the coolness of their homes and just rest their four paws in luxury. “No dogs allowed at the festival” should be included in all advertising and a policy the City should adopt.
Yes, please leave your dogs home. I have tripped over dogs at the farmers market. The Shrimp Fest is even more crowded. Your dogs could be injured, never mind the humans.
