August 10, 2018 3:00 p.m.

The Amelia Island Plantation Chapel will offer a series of Memoir Writing Workshops each Saturday in October from 9:00AM to 11:00AM in the chapel’s fellowship hall. Coffee and water will be available. The goal of the series is to encourage attendees to turn their memories into memoirs.

There is no charge for the series of workshops, but those wishing to attend should call the Chapel office at 904 277 4414 to reserve a place. Whether you are thinking about it, have started or have already successfully put together some of your priceless memories you are welcome to come, share, learn and listen. Those attending will not need to bring materials to the classes. Attendees are encouraged to develop their own stories to share with the audience.

Bill Hilles, a member of the Chapel, will coordinate the series of workshops. His lifelong interest in genealogy and writing led him to to head up two past workshops on family history and memoir writing and, now, the third series beginning October 6. The opening Saturday Dickie Anderson, contributor to regional magazines and columnist for the Fernandina Beach Newsleader, will open the workshop with encouraging advice to those embarking on the writing adventure of turning their memories into memoirs.

To make a reservation contact the Amelia Island Plantation Chapel at 904 277 4414.
