Amelia Island Chapter Regent Lynn Leisy proudly displays the 62 awards she brought home after the Florida State DAR Conference in March. The awards go to both the chapter and individual Daughters who worked so hard all year long.

The chapter has had a busy spring: Daughters attended the George Washington Luncheon hosted by the Northeast Florida Regents Council, installed a new bookcase at the Peck Library, tapped Ben Weiser as the Outstanding Teacher of American History, and Rob Gray as a DAR Good Citizen. Both men were then selected as recipients of these awards at the state level. Daughters also laid a wreath at the 242nd commemoration of the Battle of Thomas Creek in Jacksonville, delivered $1,000 in clothing and personal care items to the Robert H. Jenkins Jr. Domiciliary and Home in Lake City, and will present $5,000 in awards and scholarships in an April 20th awards ceremony.
