Editor’s Note:  On Sunday, April 17, City of Fernandina Beach Police Officer Michelle Arseneau responded to a call requesting help for a herring gull in distress.  Rhonda McKee from Asheville, North Carolina notified police.  McKee was so impressed with Officer Arseneau’s response to the situation that she sent this photo our way.   Thanks for sharing.

This island is good stuff. Thanks to one fine police officer (of the many we have here.) Keep “B.E.A.K.E. S.” in mind for our injured, avian friends.

Officer Arseneau is a wonderful ambassador for Fernandina Beach. She has just the right mix of professionalism and kindness. Thank you Officer Areneau for all that you do to portray Fernandina in such a great light.
