Poetry of Ogden Nash recited by Frank O’Donnell
From Tortoises to Elephants, Roosters to Kangaroos, this humorous musical suite of 14 movements was written by the French Romantic composer in 1886 and had its premier performance on February 9, 1886. The famous Swan movement was danced to great acclaim by the premier ballerina Anna Pavlova in 1905.
In 1949, the poet Ogden Nash was inspired to write verses for each of the movements which were originally recorded and recited by Noel Coward
