This past weekend, Amelia Island hosted The Pétanque Amelia Island Open (Nov. 9-11), the largest pétanque event in the Americas, drawing players and spectators from around the world. The event took place along the Amelia harbor front and Fernandina Beach historic district. A total of 186 teams (372 players) from around the globe participated, representing 14 countries — from Switzerland to South Korea, Netherlands to New Zealand, and Canada to Czech Republic.
