Shady Ladies Art welcomes R. Nico Ramos as Artist of the Month for May. The opening of his exhibit will coincide with the Artrageous ArtWalk on Saturday, May 8th. The opening’s hours will be from 5:00-8:00pm.

Mr. Ramos’ works on large canvases in bold expressive colors. He says, “When it comes to color, there is no such thing as moderation!” The painting featured in his exhibit, “Fear Not” displays this approach to color. He is also not afraid of size. This painting is 48 in.x 48 in. and is among his smaller works. Mr. Ramos will bring additional paintings for viewing on the night of the opening that the gallery cannot accommodate on a regular basis. Mr. Ramos’ primary artistic tool is the palette knife which he uses to apply his heavily textured and original blends of color. He says of his work, “My subjects vary from the objective to bold impressions rendered in surprising ways.”

By day, Mr. Ramos is a mechanical design engineer and inventor. He enjoys continuing his lifelong interest in drawing and painting when he has time. His work is in private collections and is also displayed at his personal studio/gallery.
