The City of Fernandina Beach will join other communities around the country to observe Memorial Day and to pay tribute to those who have fallen in defense of the nation. The ceremony will take place at the Veterans Monument at the foot of Centre Street in Fernandina Beach at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 31, 2021.
This year’s ceremony will be hosted by the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #1088, and will feature flags, music, speakers, and taps. It will conclude with the ceremonial laying of the wreath in the Amelia River.
Everyone is invited to join in honoring the men and women, who through all the years of our nation’s existence, made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
One of the things that makes Fernandina Beach so special is the support of a ceremony such as this one honoring those men and women who gave their lives in defense of our freedoms. While we have Veteran’s Day to support all present and past service members, those that made the ultimate sacrifice deserve our thanks and this recognition.
It is always an honor to attend this ceremony…..we salute & pray for those who have fallen for our country.
All gave some, some gave all.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
