Amelia Community Theatre presents an adaptation of King Lear at 7 p.m. on July 13 and 14 at 209 Cedar Street. The actors are participants in ACT's second annual teen Shakespeare Camp and directed by Tener Wade.

George Bernard Shaw said, "No man will ever write a better tragedy than Lear." In the play, Lear is ready to divide his realm between his three daughters and declares that he will offer the largest share to the daughter who loves him the most. Daughters Goneril and Regan offer false flatteries and receive their shares. But Cordelia, who has been his favorite child, says she loves him as she always has, no more and no less. Expecting to hear great flattery, Cordelia's remarks anger Lear and he disinherits her, beginning the destruction of a family.

The cast includes Emma Adkins, Nathan Baldwin, Abbey Bighouse, William Davidson, Hailey Gordon, Caitlin Henderson, Karina Jimenez, Charlee Lawrence, Peter Sawyer, Cassandra St. Hart-Venditti, and Dillon Wagner.
