Storm season is underway, and now hundreds of the most vulnerable in our community are prepared in the event of a weather emergency.

Florida Power and Light partnered with the Nassau County Council on Aging to help more than 150 local seniors by providing hurricane preparedness meal kits.

Volunteers distributed the kits Monday. They contain a three-day supply of shelf-stable foods. These kits will help provide meals should seniors be unable to leave their homes or receive home-delivered meals after a storm.
